University Heights Community Association: Association that meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm Birney Elementary School.  The Association's goal is to provide an open forum for the community to discuss the preservation and integrity of University Heights.

San Diego Historical Society:  An educational and cultural institution dedicated to preserving and sharing the growing historical collections and extensive archives with their members, visitors, and the community. The Society connect the past to the future so all generations will understand and appreciate the richness of San Diego's regional history.
 
Save Our Heritage Organization:  Through education, advocacy, and stewardship SOHO's mission is to preserve, promote and support preservation of the architectural, cultural and historical links and landmarks that contribute to the community identity, depth and character of our region. Since 1969, Save Our Heritage Organisation (SOHO), a nonprofit organization has led the community as a powerful catalyst for preservation by raising awareness and appreciation of our region's architectural and cultural heritage. All donations to SOHO support our mission of preservation.
 
Mission Hills Heritage:  Mission Hills Heritage supports redevelopment that fits the character, style and scale of the neighborhood that is accompanied by needed public facilities and infrastructure.
 
Uptown Planners - San Diego:  The monthly board meeting meets the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00pm at the Joyce Beers Community Center, within the Uptown District (across from Trader Joe’s) 1230 Cleveland Avenue, San Diego, CA. Uptown Planners consists of board members and interested community members in the Uptown community of San Diego. Uptown Planners is the city-recognized community-planning advisory group for the neighborhoods of Bankers Hill/Park West, Middletown, Mission Hills, Hillcrest, University Heights (west of Park Boulevard) and Marston Hills.
 
Historical Resources Board:  The Historical Resources Board and its staff work with the City's Housing Commission, Centre City Development Corporation, and Park & Recreation Department, as well as with the San Diego Regional Airport Authority among other entities, in evaluating and preserving resources.
 
Mission Hills Garden Club:  Is an eclectic group of individuals who have come together to share their love of gardening and interest in making the Mission Hills' neighborhood a nicer place to live.  The club meets once a month to share plants and ideas and to hear a guest speaker discuss garden-related topics.
